Social Media Breakfast Chicago is an event where moderators lead small-group discussions over breakfast on a series of social media topics.
While the moderator will lead the discussion, the goal of breaking into small groups is to encourage everyone to participate by debating, asking questions, and contributing to the conversation. The event is open to anyone hoping to gain a better understanding of social media.

Table 1: Customizing Social Media Measurement for Key Performance Indicators

What We'll Discuss: Influencers everywhere are still trying to crack the nut on social media measurement. What really defines success when it comes to social campaigns and how do those key performance indicators vary across industries and companies? In this session we’ll discuss different approaches to measuring social media and the importance of customizing social media measurement to fit specific strategies, companies, cultures and campaigns.
About the Moderators: Michael Beno is a Director at Proof Integrated Communications, the digital and advertising arm of Burson-Marsteller. Michael leads Proof’s Chicago office, where he oversees strategy and creative/technical development of innovative digital campaigns for a diverse client base, including web development, social media, search, online advertising and all other facets of digital marketing. Prior to Proof, Michael was Vice President and Director of Design and Interactive for Ruder Finn.
Stephanie Bankhead is a Manager at Proof Integrated Communications. She has more than 8 years of account and project management experience in the interactive/digital space, including digital strategy, large website redesigns, intranet development, online advertising campaigns, Flash modules, email marketing campaigns and user generated content

In this session, we¹ll discuss best practices for utilizing social tools to find your job and career advocates, as well as tips on how the type of content you put out into the social media space will make those advocates come directly to you. A few of the questions to be discussed: How do you engage with new people on social media? Where can you go online to find interesting offline events? How can you be recognized as a thought leader in your industry?
About the Moderators: Jenn Korducki and Jill Felska are the two twenty-something co-founders of POP! Social Media, a digital branding and content management company, and DreamChamps, a soon-to-be-launched community of impassioned dream job seekers and mentors. Their businesses have been built on the idea that the more ways you cultivate community, the more doors of opportunity are opened for you. Their dream jobs are to help other people find theirs.

What We'll Discuss: These days, there are few organizations that don't find themselves scrutinized from time to time by an influential blogger. Francine McKenna, who keeps a critical eye on the accounting industry via her well-known blog, will take us inside the mind of these influencers. We'll share firsthand experiences and case studies to discuss how communications professionals can respond and engage.
About the Moderator: Francine McKenna is a blogger and freelance writer with credits in the Financial Times, Accountancy Age, Accountancy Magazine, and various financial, media, and technology blogs and was named a 2010 finalist for the Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Financial and Business Journalism in the online commentary and blogging category. re: The Auditors is her specialized news site about the business of the Big 4 audit firms. She also blogs at Forbes.com under the heading “Accounting Watchdog.” Her posts explore the role, responsibility and regulation of the audit/accounting industry in the global capital markets in an independent, objective, and usually critical way.

But what about B2B marketers, who face unique challenges with long sales cycles and products that can’t be added to an online shopping cart? Whether you’re selling to soccer moms or multi-million dollar corporations, the goal is still the same: prove your expertise and build trust with potential buyers. We’ll discuss strategies to leverage social media tools for thought leadership in the B2B space, including finding the right communities, contributing to the conversation and demonstrating ROI.
About the Moderator: Crysta Anderson is an Integrated Marketing Communications Specialist at IBM, where she manages social media presence for IBM's Information Management portfolio, including the Mastering Data Management blog, Twitter, LinkedIn and other platforms. Under Crysta’s execution, IBM social media properties have received numerous awards, including "Best Corporate Blog" from the Chicago Business Marketing Association, Marketing Sherpa's 2010 Viral and Social Marketing Hall of Fame, and BtoB Magazine’s list of "Most Successful Online Social Networking Initiatives.” Crysta graduated from the University of Chicago with a BA in Political Science and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Integrated Marketing Communications at Northwestern University.
